But there have been a few good periods.  I realize now he has seperation anxiety which doesn&#8217;t appear until he is alone in the ring for a period of time (he grazes for 30 minutes and then goes crazy) or when he&#8217;s asked to trail&hellip;</p>

<p>I think that what he&#8217;s doing and the separation anxiety are similar, he seems to be more comforatble being clingy with you, and when the clinginess is not available he has a bit of a meltdwon. Perfectly normal for a clingy horse. I don&#8217;t think anything is going wrong, you are just working through the process.</p>

<p>It sounds like you have the CCTCIF working good already, so you wouldnt need to do that.</p>
<p>As afr as the small circle, That is when teaching them. If your horse can go around with a correct bend following the feel of the lead rope, you can go to a longer rope, but i would still want them to have a correcxt bend out there</p>

<p>It sounds like it&#8217;s not new, but an old response. So you have what is known as a &#8220;poisoned cue&#8221;. So the first step is to reteach the response to that tool, before trying to use it. You mentioned it happens with the shoulder, have you trip the hip?</p>
<p>Is you horse generally clingy? If so, we may want to resolve that first.</p>

<p>My horse does the same. Although the first steps or circle is fine with focus on me. But after that his nose goes to the outside. I watched a video of a miniature horse filmed in The Netherlands by Warwick. Something about hopping. Didn&#8217;t work. Waving the flag didn&#8217;t really work either.</p>
